i've organized overnight bioblitzes for the enjoyment of over 90 citizen scientists, coordinated volunteer workdays across chicagoland from wolf lake to the fox river, and provided programming for diverse volunteer activities from moth-hunting to plug-planting. as a scientist, i've crunched numbers and identified species for over 150 quadrats worth of floristic quality data. i'm a volunteer rare plant monitor for the chicago botanic garden's plants of concern program, and a member of the illinois native plant society.
i've also worked as a freelance scenic artist for eight years, and have recently turned my attention to combining my interest in science and aesthetics through data visualization.
i'm always looking for opportunities to break new ground in the field of conservation and science communication. drop me a line if you'd like to talk shop!
